Fallen behind on my car payments. How do I help my credit

I have fallen behind in my car payment. I will be caught up at the end of January. What can I do to improve that? I want to by a house and been working on my credit for two years now. I feel like I

have fallen behind.

you may or may not get any help
i sort of doubt it
the best cure is to not be late again for 2 years
